A New Approach to I Ching Interpretation for Decision Making

The I Ching is an ancient system of divination originated in China that utilizes one’s intuition to help with decision making, creativity, and insight.

Limits of Logic 
Life is complex and full of challenges. We can’t expect to make important decisions as if they were problems in an algebra class. There are usually too many unknowns. The logical approach works only when we have complete and adequate information at hand. That is not the case in a complicated and unpredictable world, especially when human beings are involved.

Intuition: Essential for decision making  
According to the great American psychic Edgar Cayce, “The more and more each is impelled by that which is intuitive…the greater, the farther, the deeper, the broader, the more constructive may be the result.” (Reading 792-2) By drawing on our intuition as we address complex decisions in our lives, we often discover surprising insights and new, creative solutions that may not have occurred to us through logic alone.

I Ching: An ancient tool for decision making
For thousands of years the I Ching has been used in China and other countries as a tool to access one’s intuition by asking questions.  Based on the chance results obtained from a toss of coins, the hexagram or hexagrams built from these results, once interpreted, always give an insightful answer, even in one is not familiar with this tool, as long as one’s intentions are genuine.
